Biography for Kathryn Engle-Wu, LCSW.

Kathryn Engle Wu, LCSW is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She earned her graduate degree from the University of Maryland, School of Social Work.  She earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Human Resources from the University of Delaware, majoring in Individual and Family Studies.

Kathryn has over twenty years of clinical experience providing therapy services to individuals and families.  Her experiences include working with adults, adolescents, and children coping with a variety of issues including depression, anxiety, family stress, behavioral difficulties, crisis, and trauma.  Kathryn has worked in multiple settings including outpatient offices, residential care facilities, partial care programs and schools. Kathryn has extensive experience working with adolescents and their families in these settings. She also has experience working with very young children and their families through Early Intervention and she also takes particular interest in working with adults--both individually and within their role as parents.

Kathryn draws from a variety of methods including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Structural Family Therapy, and Solution Focused Therapy to create an individual approach tailored for each client and his/her particular situation. As a therapist, her priority is to create a comfortable environment for clients to express themselves and address therapeutic needs. She is naturally open, encouraging and direct, and has a down-to-earth, realistic approach to therapy.
