About Us

The Integrative Therapy Institute of New Jersey (ITI-NJ) is a group practice in clinical and counseling psychology providing psychotherapy for individuals, families, and couples.  It was founded in 2012 by our Directors, Dr. Thomas Blake Hollenbach and Dr. Edward Callaghan, both of whom are licensed clinical psychologists. ITI-NJ has grown to a staff of over 50 committed and talented clinicians offering a variety of specialties in the practice. You may read their individual profiles on our Clinical Staff page.

ITI-NJ serves adults, children and adolescents, and families. We offer individual psychotherapy, marriage and couples counseling, and parent counseling, and group therapy.

In New Jersey, we operate in two locations: Metuchen, which is where our administrative staff is located, and Montclair.  Sessions are conducted both in person and by teletherapy.

All of our services are confidential. We also provide training and supervision for psychotherapists. Please see Our Services page for details.

The Institute was founded not only to serve clients but also to teach and train other therapists in Evolutionary Integrative Psychotherapy or EIP, a treatment approach developed by Dr. Hollenbach. EIP's treatment model incorporates elements of cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), psychoanalysis, and counseling, and the theoretical model combines insights from CBT, psychoanalysis, neuroscience, and evolutionary psychology.

Teletherapy Services

The Integrative Therapy Institute of New Jersey has adopted teletherapy over secure platforms as an available option for all of our clients to receive their therapy services.  This online therapy service allows clients residing anywhere in NJ to meet with any of our therapists working at any of our locations.

Training for Professionals in
Evolutionary Integrative Psychotherapy

Evolutionary Integrative Psychotherapy, or EIP, is a new model of psychotherapy designed to be easily learned by early career clinicians, although it can benefit experienced clinicians as well because of its novel features.
