Biography for Hannah Cohen-Oppenheimer, LSW

Hannah Oppenheimer, MSW, LSW, is a Licensed Social Worker. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Muhlenberg College and her Master's Degree in Social Work from Rutgers University. Hannah is also working towards her certification and professional registration as a Horticultural Therapist with the intention of developing an adjunctive nature-based approach in psychotherapy. Hannah is also currently working under a licensed clinical supervisor to gain required supervised hours needed for her LCSW degree.

Hannah has experience working with students with disabilities, including those struggling with neurodivergence, anxiety, depression, emotional regulation and communication. She has worked extensively in school settings, both as an instructor of students with disabilities, and as a school Social Worker. Hannah specializes in working with adolescents and young adults. She also has extensive experience working in the macro field of social work as the Advocacy Coordinator at Morris Habitat for Humanity and worked in that role to help the local community better understand the connections between secure housing and positive mental health. Hannah believes in standing up for one’s beliefs and helps her clients to do the same.

Hannah's approach is client-centered, as she believes that the client should help shape their treatment. She incorporates aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Strengths-Based Therapy, Art Therapy, Horticultural Therapy and mindfulness. Hannah tailors her approach to the client, but always creates an atmosphere of support and creative problem-solving.
