Biography for Gemma Boyd, Psy.D.

Dr. Gemma Boyd is a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of New Jersey and New York. She received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Marywood University, which is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA). She subsequently completed her doctoral internship at Rutgers Health Services (APA accredited). Previously, she has worked in outpatient, intensive outpatient, college counseling, and forensic settings.

Gemma brings several years of experience in the assessment and treatment of various psychological concerns across the development spectrum. She is trained in utilizing evidenced-based treatments with youth and adults for issues such as: anxiety, trauma, and depressive disorders. She is certified in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) for trauma/PTSD and is versed in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as well as Cognitive-Behavior Therapy (CBT) and Exposure-Response Prevention (E/RP) approaches.

Her approach to treatment is integrative, and she focuses on working with clients by providing an accepting, inclusive, and supportive space for everyone by utilizing a culturally informed approach to treatment.
