Biography for Edward Callaghan, Ph.D.

Dr. Callaghan is the co-founder of the Integrative Therapy Institute and is its Director of Child Services.  He received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University in 2005, and has been a Licensed Psychologist in New Jersey since 2009.  His under-graduate work was at The College of William and Mary in Virginia and at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland.

Dr. Callaghan has been Associate Clinical Director at Cornerstone Day School, a therapeutic high school and middle school, and before that ran the adolescent therapeutic afterschool programs at Jersey City Medical Center, under Dr. Hollenbach.  He has also worked at the Irvington Development Center, as a therapist for preschool children and a staff trainer, at the Youth Development Clinic in Newark, and at St. Joseph’s Hospital’s Harbor House program.  

Dr. Callaghan began private practice with the MJC Institute in Ogdensburg, NJ in 2006, and co-founded the Integrative Therapy Institute with Dr. Hollenbach in 2010.  He treats adults as well as children and adolescents, and is one of the few psychologists with extensive experience in treating preschool children.
