Timothy Dunn Jr., LAC, is a Licensed Associate Counselor, who received his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from College of the Holy Cross, a Masters of Education in Counseling Psychology from Rutgers University, and a Master’s of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. He has experience working with individuals and families, as well as experience conducting group therapy.
Timothy has experience working with clients and their families at multiple agencies and levels of care such as residential treatment center, substance abuse intensive out-patient programs (IOP), group home, and now private practice. He works compassionately to assist his clients using many modalities such as cognitive-behavioral (CBT), client-centered therapy, while also equipping a holistic mindset to help meet clients where they are at. Timothy’s goal is to help aid clients work through challenging circumstances with constructive feedback. Timothy prides himself on using honest communication with his clients in order to deliver feedback effectively while also demonstrating authentic discourse for the client.
Timothy has experience working with all age groups starting with adolescents to adults. Categories he has history working with are those struggling with mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, substance use, emotional management, psychotic disorders, and crisis-intervention. Timothy, in addition to being a licensed associate counselor, is also a Certified Trauma Professional (CTP). Tim is under the supervision of Belinda Amatekpor, LPC.
