Evan Guetz, LAC is licensed by the NJ State Board of Marriage and Family Therapy. Evan is working under a licensed clinical supervisor at the Institute to gain required supervised hours for his LPC license. He received his Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Capella University Minneapolis, MN and his Masters of Science in Clinical Psychology from Capella University Harold Abel School of Social and Behavioral Sciences.
Before coming to the Institute full-time, Evan worked with several clinics and community mental health centers providing mental and behavioral health services for children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples. He has worked as a clinician and in administration. He has also helped develop and launch a grant program funded by Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey for all New Jersey residents where he provided supervised clinical support to professional peers.
Evan has experience working with clients struggling with depression and anxiety, trauma, mood instability, eating disorders, psychosis, and relationship challenges. Evan’s approach to treatment includes person-centered therapy focusing on a patient’s strengths as well as cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and psychoeducation. Evan brings humility to the counseling session by acknowledging the shared experience and celebrating each of his clients’ unique characteristics and cultural background.
