Evan Guetz, LPC is licensed by the NJ State Board of Marriage and Family Therapy. He received his Bachelors of Science in Psychology from Capella University Minneapolis, MN and his Masters of Science in Clinical Psychology from Capella University Harold Abel School of Social and Behavioral Sciences. Evan holds a certification of training in EMDR from the EMDR Institute, an EMDRIA International Association approved training organization. He is currently pursuing ACS (approved clinical supervisor) certification.
Evan has worked in New Jersey and California at various levels of care in community mental health and private practice, providing services for children, adolescents, adults, families and couples. He has worked as a clinician and in administration, and as a trainer and consultant. He has also helped develop and launch a program for all New Jersey residents where he provided supervised clinical support to professional peer support specialists for individuals in recovery for substance use.
Evan has experience working with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, anger, mood instability, identity, belonging, eating behaviors, addiction, psychosis, neurological and developmental issues, workplace issues, and relationship challenges.
Evan’s approach to treatment may include a holistic person-centered therapy focusing on a patient’s strengths as well as EMDR, evidence-based integrative medicine education, cognitive and dialectical behavioral therapies, mindfulness, wellness dimensions, and teaching. Evan brings sensitive compassion and humility by acknowledging client lived experiences, celebrating unique client characteristics and cultural values while attending to client needs.
