Biography for Nina Langhorn, LSW

Nina Langhorn MSW, LSW, holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies and a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Rutgers University-New Brunswick. During her studies, she completed an additional graduate-level certificate in Interpersonal Violence and Trauma. Nina is a Licensed Social Worker currently working under a licensed clinical social worker at the Institute to acquire the necessary supervised hours to receive her clinical license.

Nina’s background includes providing care in outpatient community mental health,  intensive-in-home therapy, and inpatient behavioral health services. Although Nina has experience working with children, youth and adolescents, Nina is especially passionate about assisting adults of BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ identities work through trauma. Nina frequently utilizes frameworks such as systems theory, attachment theory, and trauma-informed care to guide treatment. Nina offers Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, Psychodynamic Therapy, Somatic Therapy, and teaches Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) principles and skills. As a relational therapist, Nina is committed to fostering a therapeutic environment that is client-centered and empowering for each and every client.

Nina’s personal passion for travel has positively impacted her work and commitment to bettering individuals, communities, and the world through compassion and cultural humility. Nina is currently under the supervision of Desiree Ramos, LCSW.
