Lorraine Morgan, M.S., LPC, Ed.D earned a Master’s Degree in Counseling and is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She also earned a Doctorate in Education, with a specialization in Bilingual Youth Acculturation as a school principal. She interned under Dr. Leopold Bellak, the esteemed psychiatrist and psychologist who pioneered the famous Children’s Apperception Test (CAT). She was also very fortunate to work as a School and College Counselor in Brooklyn, New York.
Lorraine also worked as a Mental Health Therapist for the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in Substance Abuse and at The New Hope Guild Center in Brooklyn, where she counseled members of the LGBTQIA and others of a variety of ages in individual and group counseling settings. Dr. Morgan is a member of the American Counseling Association and has been quoted in the National Association for Bilingual Education Review.
Dr. Morgan brings a wealth of life and professional experiences to the counseling profession. She has counseled individuals and families of a variety of ages, cultures, ethnicities and lifestyles. Lorraine strives to provide a safe and comfortable therapeutic environment where clients feel they can unpack stresses relating to their lives, their relationships and their identity.
Her foremost goals for her clients are to feel hope despite their challenges, to develop strength in their coping skills, and to improve their self-worth. Lorraine incorporates different techniques and treatment styles to fit her clients needs from a number of different theoretical approaches including, but not limited to, Person-Centered Therapy, Humanistic Psychology, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. Her personal aim is to help people find liberation from challenges and past traumas and ultimately reclaim their lives.
