
Manisha Nelson., LSW is a Licensed Social Worker who earned her Master of Social Work from Seton Hall University. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Education from Rutgers University. Manisha has several years of experience working across various settings, including the Children’s System of Care, institutional environments, and children’s service agencies. Manisha is a Licensed Social Worker currently working under a licensed clinical social worker at the Institute to acquire the necessary supervised hours to receive her clinical license.
Manisha works with children, adolescents, and adults (ages 6 and up), supporting clients who are navigating emotional, behavioral, and life-transition challenges. Manisha’s clinical experience includes working with anxiety, depression, grief and loss, emotional regulation difficulties, low self-esteem, stress management, and challenges related to daily routines and functioning.
Manisha’s therapeutic approach is client-centered and integrative, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based practices, and strength-focused interventions. Manisha collaborates with clients to build coping skills, increase self-awareness, and foster confidence while working toward personal and therapeutic goals.
Manisha is dedicated to creating an inclusive, supportive, and understanding therapeutic environment where clients feel safe, respected, and validated. Manisha values cultural responsiveness and individuality, and strives to ensure that each client, child, adolescent, or adult feels heard, empowered, and supported throughout the therapeutic process.
