Biography for Laura Pinter, LCSW.

Laura Pinter, LCSW, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who earned her Master of Arts degree in Social Work in 2007 from Rutgers University.  She also holds undergraduate degrees in both Psychology and Fine Arts from Northern Vermont University, formally known as Johnson State College.

Ms. Pinter has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including Eden Autism Services in Princeton, NJ, the Autism Center at UMDNJ, at partial hospitalization programs for both children and adults, on an inpatient CCIS unit for children and as a Developmental Interventionist for children aged birth to age three for the New Jersey Early Intervention System (NJEIS). Ms. Pinter’s special interests and training include mindfulness, creative therapies, play therapy, behavior management using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis, (ABA), clinical work with children, adolescents, families and adults, social skills training, and Autism Spectrum Disorders. Additionally, she has training in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD. Ms. Pinter has an approach that is compassionate and empathic, grounded, direct, and constructive. She believes in the power of positive choices, even small steps, towards healing, progressive change in individuals and families.  

Ms. Pinter is currently the Screening Assessment Director for ITI-NJ, reviewing the intakes and screening assessments for potential clients to determine assignment based on clinical needs and requested preferences and/or consultation and careful guidance in the case of an outside referral. Laura assesses each client's therapeutic needs in order to carefully align them with the most appropriate level of care. In her spare time, Ms. Pinter is an illustrator and finds balance by connecting with art, music and nature.
