Jade Remar, MSCP, LAC,earned a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology degree from Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA. She is also a Licensed Associate Counselor working under a licensed clinical supervisor at ITI-NJ to obtain required supervision hours needed to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. While in graduate school, Jade interned at the STAR (Services for Teens at Risk) Clinic, conducting individual and group therapy sessions while also coordinating client care with schools, psychiatrists, and hospitals as needed. Upon completion of this internship, Jade transitioned back to New Jersey where she began working as an Applied Behavioral Analyst (ABA) Therapist.
Jade worked with the 1-5 age group at The Uncommon Thread in Sterling, NJ. There, Jade became an integral part of the center, teaching early childhood skills and helping to improve the behavior of children with autism. Following her two years in ABA, Jade secured her license and began work at High Focus Centers, partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient (IOP) programs. While there, Jade was named the employee of the month because of her diligence in providing group and individual therapy to adults struggling with thoughts of suicide, depression, anxiety, and more.
Now at ITI-NJ, Jade is passionate about the healing journey and helping her clients find their way back to their most authentic and fulfilling selves. She believes greatly in the power of the therapeutic space and works to create a healing environment tailored specifically to their needs. Employing an integrative approach, Jade blends modalities from cognitive behavioral, dialectical, existential, humanistic, and more. Working with children, adolescents, and adults, Jade also utilizes structured activities to teach and practice coping skills to strengthen her clients’ range of coping strategies. Ultimately, she provides her clients with the freedom to take control of their healing overall, while also trusting that they are the expert of their lives. Jade is under the supervision of Shanique Curry, LPC.
