Kaitlyn Winkler, MA, LAC, is a Licensed Associate Counselor through the New Jersey State Board of Marriage and Family Therapy. She received her Master’s in Clinical and Counseling Psychology from William Paterson University. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology and a minor in Biology from Siena College. Kaitlyn is currently working under a licensed clinical supervisor to obtain the required supervised hours to become a Licensed Professional Counselor.
Kaitlyn has experience in working with those who struggle with anxiety, depression, OCD, interpersonal challenges, grief, and difficulty adjusting to life changes. She has experience with children, adolescents, and adults. Kaitlyn uses an eclectic therapeutic approach pulling from theoretical frameworks including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), person-centered therapy, and psychodynamic. She also has experience providing exposure response prevention (ExPR). Kaitlyn endorses a collaborative approach to therapy where clients feel comfortable and empowered to make change.
Prior to working at ITI-NJ, Kaitlyn was a counselor on a crisis call hotline. She also has years of experience working with children in educational settings. When not working, Kaitlyn enjoys being outside, hiking, crafting, and reading. Kaitlyn is under the supervision of Shanique Curry, LPC.
