Melissa Bui, MA, NCC, LAC is a Licensed Associate Counselor at ITI-NJ. She earned her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Montclair State University. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, with a minor in Criminal Justice, from Monmouth University. Melissa is working under a licensed clinical supervisor at ITI-NJ to obtain required supervised hours needed to become a Licensed Professional Counselor.
Prior to ITI-NJ, Melissa worked at a community counseling clinic providing clinical services across the lifespan. While there, she also worked on a number of state-funded projects centered on autism and infant/early childhood mental health. Melissa provides both individual and group therapy services to support children and families and is trained in play-based counseling interventions.
Melissa specializes in working with children, adolescents, and families and treats a wide range of therapeutic concerns including anxiety, depression, developmental issues, interpersonal concerns, parenting, and emotional dysregulation. Melissa incorporates a variety of treatment modalities in therapy, drawing from client-centered approaches, mindfulness techniques, family systems approaches, and strength-based approaches. She values the importance of building a positive therapeutic relationship and celebrating clients of all identities and abilities. Melissa strives to provide a safe and non-judgmental environment to empower her clients and support them in their journeys. She is also committed to providing identity affirming and culturally responsive care to all. Melissa is under the supervision of Aleza Paclarin, LPC.
