Rebeca “Beca” Soto Avalos, MA, LAC, NCC, earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Montclair State University. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Cognitive Neuroscience from Rutgers University. She is currently working under the supervision of a licensed clinical supervisor to complete the required supervised hours toward becoming a Licensed Professional Counselor.

As a bilingual therapist providing services in both English and Spanish, Beca is passionate about creating a warm, collaborative, and supportive environment where clients feel seen, heard, and valued. She works with children, adolescents, adults, and older adults as they navigate anxiety, depression, self-esteem, stress, life transitions, emotional regulation, and personal growth. She strives to help each client feel understood and empowered as they work toward positive change and greater well-being.

Prior to joining ITI-NJ, Beca provided clinical services in a community mental health setting, working with individuals, couples, and families across the lifespan. Her work includes helping clients navigate a variety of mental health concerns while collaborating with families, treatment providers, schools, and community resources to address each client’s unique needs. Her additional experience in youth mentorship and healthcare settings has further shaped her understanding of the importance of a holistic approach to care.

Beca utilizes a person-centered, strengths-based, and collaborative approach to therapy, incorporating evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused techniques, mindfulness, and play-based interventions when appropriate. She believes clients are the experts in their own lives and views therapy as a partnership where individuals can explore their experiences, recognize their strengths, and work toward meaningful change. Beca values meeting clients where they are while encouraging growth, self-reflection, and new perspectives. She strives to provide a compassionate, culturally responsive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel supported throughout their therapeutic journey. She also provides faith-informed support when requested by clients. Beca is under the supervision of Aileen P. Torres, LPC.
