Biography for Gershon Weiss, LPC.

Gershon Weiss, LPC is a Licensed Professional Counselor with more than 25 years of experience working with adolescents and adults. Gershon earned his Master’s degree in psychology from New York University and has an MFA in creative writing from Goddard College.

Gershon’s philosophy of treatment is founded upon a respectful collaboration between client and therapist in which a positive therapeutic alliance is established in order to help his clients to meet their goals for achieving a more satisfying life. Gershon helps his clients to expand their self-knowledge and strengthen their personal responsibility and self-directedness.  He also helps them to identify and modify self-defeating behavior patterns, revisit developmental challenges, overcome social skills deficits, and achieve healthy mood stability. Gershon uses a blend of psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral techniques in his work and specializes in mood and anxiety disorders, couple’s therapy, anger management, and the treatment of adults with childhood trauma.
