Matthew Buragina, MS, LSW, is a Licensed Social Worker. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Ramapo College and his Master’s Degree in Social Work from Fordham University. He also holds a Master’s Degree in Forensic Psychology from Walden University.
Matthew has worked with many different populations, across various levels of care, including children and adolescents in both inpatient and outpatient settings, as well as adults in outpatient and crisis settings. He has worked to provide mental health treatment for both adolescents and adults and has an interest and additional training in the treatment of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
Matthew’s approach to treatment is person centered. He believes treatment should be a collaboration between therapist and client, focusing on the client’s strengths, with an emphasis on empathy and compassion. Matthew’s style incorporates aspects of cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness and wellness. Matthew tries to provide clients with an environment that is non-judgmental and safe for clients to express themselves freely and openly.
